About the Item
A fantastic original limited edition Shin Hanga woodblock print by famed French artist Paul Jacoulet titled "Vieillad au Chapelet. Kawadzu (Old Man with Rosary - Kawadzu)" which depicts an elderly Japanese man in meditation holding a prayer rosary. Jacoulet was famed for his techniques involving lacquers, embossing, mica, and metal pigments, and with experimentations with powdered semi-precious stones.
The print is from a edition of 350 (it is likely noted on the verso but we have not removed the print from the frame).
Hand signed by Jacoulet in pencil within the image to the right above his butterfly red ink seal.
A beautiful, quite detailed and engaging work. Would be a great addition to collectors of Paul Jacoulet's work or Japanese print/ art collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork in any setting.
The print was framed in Japan and is ready to display.
