About the Item

A beautiful late 19th century lacquer covered bowl that was once used for storing the famous Tibetan barley flour (Tsampa). This beautifully handcrafted wooden bowl has a gorgeous, layered patina. The bowl is hand painted with gold and black lacquered with geometric flora and cloud motifs. The top lid of the bowl is painted with the longevity symbol (shou).
