About the Item

Great Art-Nouveau buste titled "Daïade" by the Belgian born artist Anton Nelson (1841-1910), pseudonym of Van Den Kerckhove Antoine. Anton Nelson, son of a great Belgian sculptor Augustin Van Den Kerckhove. Born in an Antwerp family of artists/sculptors, he moved to Brussels were he went to the academy. Later on (1890-1910) he moved to Paris and London: his fine female art-nouveau bustes came from this period.
