About the Item

Rare and Hard To Find 19th Century From China's Qing dynasty (1644-1912) a hard to find solid limestone finely carved "drum" pedestal - perfect for displaying your indoor or outdoor favorite pots of plants or sculptural works of art. It is weather tough. This handsome antique features simple flower and beaded designs deeply carved on all sides of its rounded surface. It was likely used as column footing originally but now is transformed into handsome display base- just beautiful carvings and an unusual opportunity. It is weathered from age appropriate historic use and ready for another 100 years of service! A genuine treasure that would elegantly showcase your favorite work of art. Dimensions: 16 inches high and 19 inches diameter at mid section; top is 14 inches diameter Provenance: Acquired in China over 20 years ago and a recent de-accession from our New England garden collection.
