Chinese Marble Architectural Fragment Window

About

Qing period (18th-19th century) marble window frame with subtle decoration of lotuses and vegetal patterns. These kind of small openings are often referred to as concubine windows because they were placed quite high and integrated in the facade so concubines could look out to the street but men couldn't. Mounted on a stand its strong geometric presence and soft patine make it a attractive object and interesting conversation piece. The iron support is removable and 10 cm's (3.94 inch) high. The wooden stand comes with it, if desired, and measures 108 x 30 x 45 or 42.52 x 11.81 x 17.72 inches.
