Timeworn Folk Art Pair Of Burmese Entrance Figures
About the Item
A strongly carved pair of Burmese figures standing with upraised right hands in a gesture of greeting. The figures standing heel-to-heel wearing traditional dress with pantaloons , hats and sashes. Each figure once held a pole or flag as the left hands are carved through as holders. Dating to the late 19th Century, the figures have a desirable distressed finish with traces of a colorful Turquoise paint.
Dimensions: 36" high by 8.75" wide by 8.25" deep.
Condition: Please see detail photos. As mentioned, the pair are timeworn with a very fine age patina, stable age splits, shipping and light losses which do not detract from the exceptional Asian folk art presentation.
