An Unusual Antique English Brass Fire Grate
About the Item
A large and unusual antique English fire grate from the last quarter of the 19th century. The brass serpentine shaped wings with well cast web design flanking a bowed burning area in polished cast iron. Beneath the bars a plain fielded fret with rosette to centre and flute cut fret either side, conforming fluted finials surmounting tapered front supports. Simple thick cast iron fire back.
