About the Item

A good quality brass firegrate in the Georgian manner. The tapering legs with rosette and bellflower detailing, with classical finial above. The serpentine fret with fluting and scrollwork and engraved patera to centre. The polished steel front bars flanked by brass sidings with beading and engraved rosettes. English, 19th century.
