About the Item

An English cast iron fire grate in the Georgian manner. The burning area grate surmounted by a semi-circular plate embossed with a radiating dart and bellflower design, serpentine-shaped scrolled and pierced fret surmounted by urn finials. The tapering legs surmounted by urn finials. English, early 19th century. Width At Front: 864 mm 34" Width At Back: 470 mm 18 ½" Height: 791 mm 31 ⅛" Depth: 387 mm 15 ¼"
