Antique Marble Basin from an Italian Villa, Early 1900s
Located in Dallas, TX
Salvaged from the garden of an Italian villa, this marble basin was hand-carved in the early 1900’s and most recently used as a planter. The ovate shaped bowl has an exterior width of 31 inches and has a small drainage hole in the bottom. A square, rough-cut block that extends from the backside would be used to affix the basin to a wall. The gray marble is naturally weathered, giving the stone a matte finish with a nice speckled black patina. Not only would this piece be a unique garden planter, the antique basin...

Small D Shape Carved Stone Weathered Sandstone Planter Bonsai Pot
Located in Llanbrynmair, GB
Discover the timeless beauty of this antique carved stone planter. An early piece, circa 1900, the piece showcases the rich, natural patina that develops over a lifetime. The gentle curved D-shape and irregular surface create a striking, sculptural silhouette that complements both modern and traditional decor. The D-shaped design makes it perfect to put against a wall or as a standalone piece, ample room to display your favourite plants, succulents, or fresh herbs. Whether placed indoors or out, this planter adds a zen-inspired, nature-infused accent with its unique character and charm. Durable enough for outdoor use, or if preferred to use inside, this antique planter brings a touch of the outdoors in. The planter appears to have a small drainage hole, if using indoors, care sound be taken to ensure no leakage or staining from the planter. Embrace the beauty of perfect imperfection and the quiet elegance of nature with this organic stone planter...

Chinese Chiseled Stone Trough, circa 1900
Located in Chicago, IL
Once used on a Provincial Chinese farm to hold water or animal feed, this early 20th century stone trough is celebrated today for its organic form and rustic authenticity. hand carved from solid limestone, this shallow rectangular trough exists on a slight tilt, exaggerated by its asymmetrical form. The trough has a rectangular form, carved with a shallow basin, rounded underside, and chiseled surface texture. The rim of the trough curves up and down in a wave-like pattern, softened by the touch of many hands over the years. The surface of the stone has weathered with time, resulting in natural erosion and neutral color variation. A drainage hole is carved into one side, making the large trough...

Fine Edwardian Satinwood and Mahogany Paint Decorated Planter
By Angelica Kauffmann
Located in Hudson, NY
This fine painted decorated planter in the manner of Angelica Kauffman was created in England circa 1890 to 1900. Hepplewhite in style the planter was made in England during the Edwardian era. This time saw a great rise in revival styles and culminated with the out break of the first world war. Hepplewhite design is most often associated with fine detail contrasting wood veneers and inlay , delicate painted details and a definite reference to historical precedents. Referencing Kauffman herself the piece is reminiscent of works in her historical painterly style. She i known to have painted a number of commissions on furniture while living in England as well a being one of only two female founding members of the Royal Academy. She classified herself as a painter of historical imagery but is also known for her many significant painting and portraits and scenes of late 18th century upper class life. Many engravings used as pattern survive giving her style and work a great reach in paint decorated furniture...
