Stylish Mid-century Modern ice bucket and sugar bowl or candy box clad in a naturalistic silvered metal finish, manufactured in 1970 circa in the style of Mauro Manetti, Florence. The largest container is an ice bucket, so useful for ice cubes and even ice cream or sorbet, the cold is guaranteed by the internal removable tin liner, frozen for a long time as the lid sits tight on the bucket. The smaller pineapple, fitted with a removable blue glass vase can be used as a decorative candy box, sugar bowl or ashtray or trinket case...

This pair of elegant 19th century Italian Empire period (1811-1817) silver chiseled candlesticks show a simple but elegant design and shape. The conical structure embellished with festoon and garlands rests on an unfilled round base decorated with acanthus leaves offset olive-shaped grommets adorned with a frieze of palmettes and a flat, plate-shaped drip edge. Smooth design of the surface divided by delicate leaf and cord friezes. These candleholders were crafted between 1811 and 1817 in Rome during the occupation of city by the French Empire. The style was called ‘Regency’ in England and USA, ‘Empire’ in France and Italy. A SILVER OFFERING BOWL WITH SCENES FROM THE VIDHURA-PANDITA JATAKA, LOWER BURMA (MYANMAR), DATED 1901. A hammered repoussé Buddhist beggar’s bowl form with high relief  design depicting scenes from the Vidhura-Pandita Jataka on the upper row of cartouches and beneath neat rows of semicircular lappets each depicting various auspicious human and animal forms with scrolling acanthus leaf backgrounds. The overall concept is similar to the layered effect of a Burmese court costume. The circular etched design on the base is of Punnaka astride his magical horse mid-stride holding the white umbrella and Vidhura pleading behind. All surrounded by an inscription, translated as, "Mr Saw Marn's silver bowl. Year 1263 [1901 CE]". Excellent condition. 11 3/4 in. (30 cm) diameter x 5 7/8 in. (15 cm) high. 38 troy oz., 2lbs. 10 oz.
