About the Item
A magnificent large antique European forged iron seventeen light candelabrum.
Dating from the 18th to early 19th century, Continental Europe, most likely Spanish, most impressive monumental size, made long before the advent of electricity, this finely crafted hand forged black wrought iron floor lamp features seventeen candle nozzles in three tiers with scattered remnants of the original gilt decoration. Having two adjustable rotating arms with supports on a central standard, rising on distinctive tripartite base, with decorative spiral twist and undulating ironwork.
With its palatial castle size, simplistic utilitarian design and distinct sculptural form, this rare Medieval Gothic inspired floor candelabra / free-standing candlestick is sure to elevate any space!

Overall a superb example, in great original antique condition with beautifully aged patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Attractive appearance, nicely patinated, scattered remnants of original gilding remain, oxidation, accretions wear commensurate with centuries of age and use.

A most charming pair of handmade Bohemian artisan-crafted polychrome decorated ceramic pottery candlesticks.
Hand-crafted in the early 20th century, Czech Republic (Bohemia), the handmade ceramic candle holders executed in traditional Boho taste, with a reddish orange molten ground, richly detailed throughout with vibrant hand painted floral motifs, having bright colorful hues and hints of various colors including lemon, lime, lavender, cobalt, and sky blue.
Signed underfoot; the circular base underside with beautifully aged craquelure, stamped and marked numbering, and stamped with the importers Coronet trademark, which is a stamp of a crown inside a laurel wreath. Above the crown is written "Trademark" and below the Crown "Coronet." This trademark was registered to George Borgfeldt & Co., a major U.S. importer located in New York City.
