French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu Candelabras
About the Item
An elegant and very high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu candelabras. Each five arm candelabra is raised by a circular mottled base with fine wrap around beaded and tied fluted designs. The socle shaped pedestal support displays a striking fluted design in an exceptional satin and burnished finish with richly chased acanthus leaves below the tapered central support also displaying a beautiful fluted design with foliate cabochon reserves and lovely foliate candle cups with a hammered background. Above are four elegantly scrolled arms adorned with exquisite richly chased acanthus leaves centering a single arm each displaying foliate bobeches and baluster shaped candle cups with foliate hammered designs and fine wrap around beaded bands. The central arm displays a beautiful finely detailed acorn finial which lifts off to expose the candle cup while the top with all fine arms lift off to create a single candlestick.
