Italian Pair of Candle Holders, Scrolling Acanthus Leaf Design in Gold/Silver
About the Item
An Italian pair of carved and painted candle holders from the mid 20th century. This vintage pair of decorative candle holders from Italy each feature a scrolling acanthus leaf design with two-tiered prickets (one at top and one down on the lower base) with 2 prickets (to hold two candles total). The primary coloring is gold and silver. Please note that the backsides of these are un-adorn so best used would be against a wall so that they are only visible from the front side. These mid-century Italian scrolling candle holders each stand approximately 31" in height (to tip of pricket without candles, which would give them more height).

An Italian pair of acanthus carved single-candle wall sconces from the early 20th century. This antique pair of wall decorations from Italy each feature elegantly hand-carved scrolling acanthus leaf plaques, full of beautiful ribbing and texture. Lightly carved floral outlines further embellish the voided spots within the front of the wooden backplates. A single carved-wood arm, maintaining the scrolled acanthus leaf theme, gently protrudes out from the center bottom, each terminating into a ruffled metal leaf bobe`che, ready to receive a single candlestick within it's center.
