Hollywood Regency Gilt Metal Sheaf of Roses Candelabra by Hans Kögl, 1960s
By Maison Jansen, Hans Kögl
Located in North Hollywood, CA
Vintage Hollywood Regency Gilt Metal Sheaf of Roses Candelabra by Hans Kögl, 1960s. A stunning Hans Kögl Italian tole gilt floral candle holders. Mid-Century Hollywood Regency Gilt Metal Leaf and Flower Candelabra by Hans Kögl. Florentine Italian gilt metal candelabra with roses details by Hans Kögl, there are 5 handcrafted curved gilt stems decorated fully with gilt leaves and roses. Vintage Italian leaf and roses design Hollywood Regency style gilt gold tole metal Candle holder, candelabra. Vintage Midcentury gilt metal sculpture of branches with leaves and flowers. Midcentury Hollywood Regency style Italian gilt metal candle holder with 5 roses made to hold candles, 10 more roses. A stunning, Italian made candle holder by German manufacturer and designer Hans Kögl (Koegl/Kogl), circa 1960. "Made in Italy" metal tag attached. DIMENSIONS: 14ʺW × 14ʺD × 16ʺH, base is 8" D. Hans Kögl was famous for his light and table designs incorporating natural organic forms such as palm tree leaves and sheafs of bound wheat. His designs were produced in both Germany and Italy alike. A very special piece of design which still feel timeless and fit perfectly in any interior design where warmth, opulence or simply organic forms are needed and, of course, perfect for any Hollywood Regency interior with its gold gilded metalwork. Materials: Gilt metal. Italy, circa 1960s. Handcrafted in Italy for Hans Kogl Hans. Kögl Furniture While little has been written about German furniture designer Hans Kogl, his work speaks for itself.Kögl drew frequently on natural forms such as wheat sheafs, florentine flowers and wisteria in designing sculptural lighting Fixtures, tables and various decorative objets. His better known work was manufactured in Germany and Italy during the 1970s and 1980s, although some pieces date back to the 1950s.Kögl’s vintage gilt metal lamps and sophisticated table bases capture nature in a way that is beyond simple lifelike imitation — the handcrafted works’ copper and gold-plated leaves and other flora, free and elegant, demand a double-take to fully appreciate the designer’s profound attention to detail. Some of Kögl’s 1970s-era textured palm tree floor lamps, which are playful and striking and bear the hallmarks of the Hollywood Regency style, stand over six feet tall. And when coupled with his unique glass-topped coffee tables, which also draw heavily on organic forms in their decorative gilt leaf bases, the fixtures can help bring the outdoors into a living room in a manner that feels simultaneously luxurious and provocative.Collectors and enthusiasts of early 20th century furniture will find much appeal in Kögl’s sconces...

By Patricia Urquiola
Located in Sant'agata De' Goti, BN
In 2020 MADE IN EDIT invites Patricia Urquiola to visit the Istituto a Indirizzo Raro Caselli Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte inside the Real Bosco, discovering its ancient tradition and the cloister where the school's didactic garden was originally located. The students of ceramic art have always used botanical references, taking them directly from plants, which are a primary source of inspiration and exercise. Hence the idea of "greening" this tradition: on one hand by reinventing a new botany of our time and on the other hand by thinking of providing the school with new plants for teaching. Thus the collection "Hybrida" for MADE IN EDIT was born: objects and centerpieces that bring an ancient model...
