English two part seamed cast brass petal base candlestick, 1760

About the Item

Petal base Queen Anne candlestick in seamed and cast brass. The candle cup incorporates a circular dished bobeshe and a slightly waisted cup with two medial score lines. The shaft has a compressed knob under the candle cup, supported by an inverted trumpet turning over a smaller knob & turned short shaft peened to a conical centered petal base. Birmingham, England, circa 1760.

  • Condition:
    The leading edge of one of the base petals is slightly flattened as seen in the image, and the shaft has a slight list. Surfaces have been hand polished. Wear commensurate with age and use.
