About the Item
This delicate table clock features a surmounting design of silver foliate and flowers, which are mounted with precious stones. Held centrally within the silver flowers is the circular clock dial, which features a gilt border and black Roman numerals with gilt details on the white dial. The dial is signed 'E. DREYFOUS, To Their Majesties, FRANCE'. The dial and flowers are mounted upon four agate columns; two square and two round, which stand upon a curved agate base. The clock is set on four ormolu toupie feet. The back of the clock is inscribed 'FRANCE', and bears the serial number 165853. The clock comes with the original fitted travel case.

This beautiful piece is an exceptionally unusual and equally beautiful mantel clock, crafted from a variety of materials, used to showcase an array of superb decorative arts and techniques. Made in France in the late nineteenth century it is formed of green onyx, porcelain (the vase on top), cloisonné enamel and ormolu.
The dials are set upon three columns of ormolu, mounted on green onyx, and framed with enamel in red, white, and blue, floral motifs. The dials are adorned with lettering in both French and Spanish, and measure time, temperature, and pressure. An elegant decorative vase mounts the clock, crafted from porcelain, and similarly decorated with enamel elements.
