About the Item

This antique ceramic inkwell is presumed to have been made in Continental Europe in circa 1880 in the period Victorian style. The inkwell is clearly stamped with a maker's mark, however we have yet to identify who it may be and have it posted as 'Unknown'. The inkwell is shaped in either a shell or oil lamp configuration and done with a cream ground with pink and alternating gilt stripes down either side. The top and edges are done in a think gilt finish as are the inserts and lid. There are no identified condition issues and remarkably none of the gilt finish shows wear or damage.
