About the Item
A very stylish Arts & Crafts hand-beaten lidded copper inkwell by J F Poole Hayle dating from around 1895. Made in Cornwall the inkwell is of rounded cylindrical shape and stands raised on three folded flat rounded and domed feet riveted to the body. The inkwell well has a wide rimmed top with an attached hinged domed cover embossed in relief with a stylised floral design. This opens to reveal the original removable craquel glass liner set within a central recess. The inkwell has an all over hand-beaten finish and is not marked.
