Hot Desk 1, Miami by Russell Bamber, Geometric Shaped Desk, Colored Laminate
By Russell Bamber
Located in London, GB
Hot Desk 1 is an eye-catching centre-piece sculptural unit that can be used as a reception desk. Hot Desk 1- Miami teeters on the edge of design, painting and architecture; selecting and employing elements freely and playfully to suggest function and familiarity. It is made to invigorate a space; to bring unexpected joy and dynamism to our lives, bringing a new and exciting twist to the space it occupies. Hot Desk 1 suggests function, and is functional, but its function is also to tease and beguile. The mischievous use of color and surface seduces the viewer into joyful excitement and further blur the boundaries of sculpture and design. Glazed ceramic sculptural vase by Freyja Dorren Unique Contemporary UK
Located in London, GB
Freyja Dorren, Watering Hole, 2023, glazed earthenware- 50cm Height X 35cm Width Unique piece. Freyja Dorren, born and raised in Edinburgh and now based in London, is a recent graduate at the Royal College of Art Ceramics & Glass MA which follows a Degree in Textiles at Central Saint Martins. Freyja has always been influenced by the life of cities, exploring the marriage of old historical aspects of architecture with new and modern developments into our ever-growing cities. Her interest in architecture stems from taking walks through the city of London, discovering old classical buildings, brutalist creations and high-tech features all within a short distance walk from each other. This led her to create work that is a nod to the past and the present, with a graphic style and finish, combining the undiscerning elements of a city. Each piece she has created is influenced by interior detailing, deriving from places such as the V&A Museum and other historic landmarks within London. Freyja's textile print background enables her to transform the tactile surface to create a unique interwoven surface, giving a current relevance to the object, bringing a contemporary twist to each landmark detail, magnifying repetition, and significance of history when we design. The starting point of this sculptural vase is Victorian architectural...
