Mid-Century Modern Skeletal Wire Rod Abstract Sculpture
Located in Garnerville, NY
An amazing spider's web of a rollercoaster of design and line. This sculpture is just as delicate and light filled like a spider's web. A work that reaches, careens, and zigzags Constantly changing maze of line and perspective. Comprised of welded metal rods and airbrushed in different colors. Circa 1960. Good overall condition with all welds intact. Some minor rust and pitting, but that just adds to the piece's outsider art charm. Clipped corners on the piece's base. Reminiscent of a small skeletal sculpture by the artist, Lee Bontecou...

Scott Gordon, Man and Woman, 2020
By Scott Gordon
Located in Sharon, VT
Man and Woman
welded steel, found objects
Dimensions: 14 x 24 x 2 in.
Man and Woman is a sculptural meditation on the shared journey of life. Two abstracted figures—one square, one diamond—stand together in a boat, their forms balanced in quiet contrast. They drift along an implied river, evoking a sense of motion, partnership, and endurance. With minimalist clarity and poetic restraint, the work captures the essence of companionship through time. It speaks to the universal rhythm of human connection—the parallel paths, the shared silences, the unseen currents that carry us forward.A timeless expression of unity and passage, Man and Woman invites reflection on life’s unfolding voyage.
Artist Statement
I work with materials that have already lived a life — steel that’s rusted, bent, scarred. These imperfections hold a kind of quiet beauty, one that speaks not of utility but of presence. Though my work sometimes carries figurative echoes, I’m drawn to the non-figurative: the essential, the raw. Steel, once loud and forceful in its industrial context, becomes still and intimate in this new form. Each composition emerges through direct interaction with found parts. I rarely alter the materials beyond what is necessary. Instead, I allow them to dictate form — interlocking, balancing, and aligning until their relationship feels complete. The process is intuitive, the engineering elemental.Art, for me, is a spiritual act — a practice of selflessness and stillness. It doesn't seek acclaim or commercial appeal. It simply exists, honest and sacred.
