About the Item
Masterfully carved and sculpted alabaster bust of a young girl with outstretched arms holding up a cup by Antonio Frilli. Smiling faced young girl, wearing lace and ruffled clothing, wonderfully carved, and open fingers holding up a cup. Signed Galleria A. Frilli seated on a separate rotating round base. All standing on a matching carved alabaster fluted column.
Antonio Frilli was a Florentine sculptor working in marble and alabaster. He founded the Frilli Gallery in 1860, as a studio and art atelier in Florence and specialised in Belle Epoque subjects.

P. Emilio Fiaschi (1858 – 1941), also called Emiliano Fiaschi, was an Italian sculptor. He was born in Volterra and died in Florence, Italy. From 1883 to 1885, he studied at Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze and spent most of his career in Florence, Italy. He was skilled in sculpting both marble and alabaster and most often produced female nudes, usually smaller than life-size figures. His female nudes featured highly polished skin and emphasized the curves of hips and waistlines.
