About the Item

Striking mid-century Swedish ceramic mask featuring a masterful blue glaze with rustic brown undertones. This sculptural face/bust artwork showcases sophisticated glazing techniques, creating a mesmerizing play of light to deep cobalt blue, with organic patterns emerging through the firing process. The textural brown accents and uneven glaze give the piece a compelling, weathered quality. The detailed facial features and strong execution suggest a skilled artisan, though little is known about the creator beyond the signature "Majgunn." Created circa 1970s. While it can be displayed lying flat as a centerpiece on a table or dresser, there is a hole in the base for those resourceful enough to figure out a wall-mounting solution. Great vintage condition, free from any remarks.
