About the Item

Amazing vintage ceramic vase by Serafino Volpi for Deruta. Made in Italy in the 1940-50s. Volpi was a ceramicist, businessman and, above all, one of the most innovative artists of that period. A potter who worked in Deruta from 1916 to 1918, Serafino Volpi holds the position of factory head at the Majolica Deruta manufactory. Starting in 1928, he founded, in partnership with Gino Vesini, a manufactory called “Maiolica Derutese Volpi". The following year, he remains the sole owner of the company, which will operate until the early 1950s. Very good vintage condition!
