Important marble mortar from Rosso Di Verona, Florence, early 17th century

The mortar is of exceptional quality. The sculptural execution of the carved decoration is appealing. Large leaf volutes end in stylized eagle heads. The sides are decorated with carved lion masks and the lower body is decorated with round lamellae. The impressive size, the execution in "Rosso di Verona" and the Mannerist decoration make this mortar an almost unique testimony to museum-quality pharmaceutical devices. The carved pestle is from the 19th Florence, early 17th century HD photos will be available
