Highly Decorative, Great Crater with Greek Mythological Decoration, Italy, 1850
About the Item
Unusually large crater with extensive depictions of Greek mythology. Light ceramic in terracotta color with ebonized paint. Two protruding volute handles adorn the sides. The huge size of this crater is exceptionally rare, as is the composition of light colors with the extensive narrative representations. Italy, probably Naples around 1850. Highly decorative.
