About the Item

Guido Gambone (1909-1969) was an Italian ceramic artist and designer who is known for his unique and innovative approach to pottery. In the 1930s, Gambone began experimenting with new forms and designs, combining traditional Italian techniques with contemporary aesthetics. He was particularly known for his use of bright colors and bold, abstract patterns, which made his ceramics stand out from traditional Italian pottery. During the 1950s and 1960s, Gambone's work gained international recognition, and he exhibited his ceramics in galleries and museums throughout Europe and the United States. His designs were also featured in several international design exhibitions, including the Milan Triennale and the Brussels World's Fair. Today, Gambone's ceramics are highly sought after by collectors and are held in the collections of many major museums around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
