About the Item
Ashtray in a particular submerged glass, with a wonderful double color of emerald green and blue. Refinement and class as in the Murano style, unique pieces that always remain precious.
The ashtray is in Murano glass, round in shape, and with a particular color of emerald green and transparent blue. By lighting it you can see the different colors it takes on in the daylight. Submerged glass is one of the latest techniques to be discovered. This style is obtained by creating multiple layers of glass, usually with different colors, inside a single object. This technique gives the illusion of "submerged" colors that overlap without mixing. To do this, glassmakers join together multiple layers of glass using heat and repeatedly immerse them in containers of molten colored glass. Antonio Da Ross was the inventor of submerged glass in the 1930s.
