An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver bottle coaster; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver bottle coaster has a plain cylindrical form to a domed spreading base. The body of the coaster is embellished with two broad shaped bands of pierced decoration, in addition to an applied moulded border to the undulating upper rim. This solid silver bottle coaster is fitted with two handles ornamented with bead ornamentation incorporating a floral motif to the center of each hand piece. This fine antique George III sterling silver decanter label/bottle ticket has a subtly convex, plain rectangular rounded cornered form. The body is embellished with a simple tooled decorated border and the engraved name ‘MADEIRA' to the center. The label is suspended by two ring loops to the upper border connected by a silver belcher style chain. This Fine example of Georgian silverware has been crafted by the Newcastle maker John Robertson II but assayed in London; this was an occasional practice with smaller items of Newcastle silver, where no town mark was been struck.
