Edwardian Glass and Sterling Silver Mounted Champagne Bottle Decanter
About the Item
An impressive and unusual Edwardian antique blown and cut glass, silver mounted champagne bottle decanter; an addition to our silver mounted glass collection.
This fine and impressive antique Edwardian glass and sterling silver mounted champagne bottle style wine decanter has a cylindrical bottle shaped form.
The upper portion of this antique decanter bottle is fitted with an impressive sterling silver cylindrical mount which extends from the rim of the shoulders.
The hinged cover of the bottle is realistically modelled in the form of a champagne cork.
This exceptional decanter is fitted with a push fit cork and silver mounted stopper.
The base of the original glass body is embellished with a circular cut glass star motif.
Condition
This antique decanter is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The decanter has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount are clear in keeping with age and location; there is a minor surface ding located below the hallmarks.
