Early 20th Century English Art Deco Period Silver Plate Yacht Cocktail Service

About the Item

Originally used to serve cocktails on a yacht in the 1930's, this English Art Deco period silver plate bar service is supported by a green tinted wooden tray with silver handles on each end. The service includes six cups, a cocktail shaker, an ice bucket with handle and tongs, six affixed caviar bowls each with its own spoon, an additional serving bowl with spoon, a glass pitcher with stir spoon and muddler, a central lemon juicer, and a glass dish for lemons. Each piece, excluding the glass dish for lemons, is held in place by silver plate encasements to keep each piece in place while on rough seas. The central citrus juicer in the middle is fitted with a wheel and screw system and includes two bowls that rest inside each other, one for collecting juice and the other pierced one for holding citrus. The press is marked on the top Kirby, Beard, and Co, Paris, as well as "Fabrique en Angleterre" (Made in England, in French) on the top. Two small silver anchors attached to the tray complete the look. A beautiful service and a rare find sure to make a statement on any dry bar or boat.
