About the Item
Designed by Walter Dorwin Teague and Edwin W. Fuerst for the State Dinning Room for the 1939 New York World's Fair. The fluted stem design was inspirated by the columns of the Federal Building, pattern #4900. This set of 23 contains water, wine and liquor cocktail glasses. There are 8 water goblets, 2 3/4" diameter and 8 5/8" tall. The set has 4 wine glasses, 2 1/8" diameter x 8" tall. There are 2 liquor cocktail glasses, 2 7/8" diameter x 6 1/2" tall. The set has 5 liquor cocktail glasses, 2 1/2" diameter x 6 3/4" tall. The last 4 glasses are champagne glasses, 2 1/8" diameter x 6 3/4" tall. The bottom of the stems are acid etched "Libbey".
