Vintage Ceramic Ashtray in the Shape of a Pin Up Girl with Sombrero, Italy 1950s
About the Item
We offer for sale a ceramic figurine with a retro charm, depicting a sexy girl dressed only in a sombrero, which has the function of an ashtray.
Made in Italy around the 50s, this Figurine / Ashtray is the emblem of a stylistic current that was very successful in Italy in the mid-20th century, of which the Lenci ceramics factory was the pioneer.
Starting in the 30s of the 20th century, many ceramic factories were born, especially in Northern Italy, such as VIBI, RONZAN, IGNI, ESSEVI, CIAMANNA and LE BERTETTI, specialized in the production of splendid hand-decorated figurines depicting women characterized by a chaste malice, seductive female silhouettes as personifications of biblical themes, feelings, or even simple scenes of common life that refer to the Pin Up movement.
The figurine has a signature on the bottom, but we were unable to understand it and therefore give an attribution to the article.
The figurine is in original vintage condition, it has small imperfections on the sombrero visible in the photos.
