French and Asian Collaboration 19th Century Louis XVI Style Centerpiece Bowl
About the Item
An elegant French and Asian collaboration 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and Imari porcelain centerpiece bowl. The centerpiece is raised by a beautiful square ormolu base with concave corners and decorated with lovely recessed fluted designs. The socle shaped pedestal displays a lovely richly chased wrap around foliate band, fluted design and beaded band. The beautiful Imari porcelain bowl displays exceptional vivid colored flowers with scrolled gold accents throughout. Striking handles lead up each side to a Greek key design adorned with a finely chased swaging berried laurel garland while an elegant pierced ormolu band extends along the top rim. Also finished on the inside with additional lovely hand painted flowers on a white background. All original gilt throughout.
