Fat Lava Brutalist Style Hungarian Colored Ceramic Glazed Vase

About the Item

We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Peculiar and original Hungarian-colored ceramic vase; it has an innovative and modernist shape; the beautiful and vibrant colors are balanced and proportioned respecting a minimalist design; very unusual is the beautiful and seductive white glaze starting from the neck, resembling a fresh glaze; of great aesthetic impact in white, the lively dripping effect; the glazing of the object was achieved by first laying down one color, proceeding to fix it by firing it in a kiln, then the same procedure was performed for the other colors. The vase was produced between 1965 and 1968 in a workshop in the city of Pécs in Hungary, famous for its important and qualitative production of artistic porcelain. "Fat lava" is the name given to a certain style of West German art pottery that spread after the war to other neighboring countries characterized by an extravagant amount of shapes, glazes, textures, and typical colors ranging from dark brown to orange, from forest green to cobalt blue, from ruby red to canary yellow; The production strategy of the artisans of this style implied rather simple and rigorous forms that in a combination of all the different decorations and colored glazes gave rise to a very wide range of pieces. Our vase has beautiful and harmonious proportions and because of this strong personality can be placed in any style of furniture. The vase is in good condition. Measures diameter cm.15, height cm.33. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
