About the Item

USA, ca. 1960s. A large ceramic charger by potters Vivika (1910-1995) and Otto Heino (1915-2009). Features rugged yet refined stoneware construction finished in a slightly celadon glaze with volcanic iron splash. A fantastic example of the Heinos’ unique style and dedication to their art. For nearly half a century, Otto and Vivika worked collaboratively from studios in New Hampshire and Ojai, California. They participated in over 200 national and international exhibitions, and their work is readily sought by collectors of the American studio craft movement. Incised “Vivika + Otto” signature to underside. Condition is mint. Dimensions: 15” diameter x 1.25” high.
