Small Dish with Yellow Glaze by Otto Heino

About the Item

A small Studio Pottery dish by significant 20th century ceramicist Otto Heino. This example features the buttery yellow glaze Heino perfected after his wife’s death, a continuation of her long running project to reproduce a lost glaze recipe from Chin dynasty China. The piece has a bi-color design, yellow on one side and oyster gray on the other; the area where the glazes overlap is highlighted with a glossy black finish. Signed on underside, “Otto ‘98.”.
