About the Item

A striking exemple of mid-century ceramics from German maker Ruscha Keramik, founded in 1948 by Rudolph Schardt. The company was known for their high-quality art pottery. This large (almost 28 cm/ 11" in height) and imposing ceramic vase is referred to as model number 335 (see marking on the base). Apart from its fantastic, generous, round shape, it is especially its rare glaze that is worth mentioning. This vase has a mesmerizing and unique drip-glaze in pastel shades of turquoise, purple, beige and green which makes it look interesting from any angle. In addition, some of the colors have a shiny finish and others a more matte finish which adds yet more interest to the surface. The inside has a contrasting, shiny, dark brown glaze. In very good vintage condition. The vase has no cracks, chips or any other flaws. Minor signs of wear consistent with age (micro-scratches). Dimension: height 27.5 cm/ 10 3/4", maximum diameter 26 cm/ 10 1/4", diameter top 7.5 cm/ 3". Weight: 2445 g/ 5.39 lbs
