About the Item
An amazing and very sought after mid-century modern 1960s fat lava floor vase by the renowned West German pottery maker Üebelacker, also called Ü-Keramik. The company was founded in 1909 by Johann Üebelacker and until its end in 1990, it was famous for producing high-quality art pottery and ceramics.
This is the large model 1485/50 (see photo of base mark) featuring a striking decor of rows of arches/leafs in relief. The middle section has a wonderful, shiny, green glaze, while the top and the bottom sections feature a matte white glaze. The inside has a glossy black glaze. A fantastic combination of contrasts; colors, textures and finishes. An authentic 1960s item that feels surprisingly modern.
In very good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks or glaze damages. No other flaws. A collector's item.
