Mason's Rare Graduated Set of Three Jardinière Pattern Imari Ironstone Jugs
$2,802.39per set

About the Item
A very rare set three antique Masons ironstone China jugs of graduated size with rounded bulbous shaped bodies decorated with an Imari colored Jardinière pattern with a Chinese pagoda dating from circa 1815. The jugs graduate in size from 18 cm in height to 14.5 cm in height and all are decorated in the same pattern. The jugs are all impressed MASON's PATENT ironstone China to the base and all are offered in good condition with light age wear to the patterning. The smallest jug has an over-painted element to the handle which appears to be original without signs of restoration. It has been suggested that these were made as exhibition pieces and that the lack of decoration on the handle was applied prior to firing hence the reason for this being slightly varied to the other two jugs.
