About the Item
A Mid Century Danish Modern Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen & Sons art pottery lamp base. Tapered vase form with stylized birds in green, rust and orange on black ground with matte glaze. Hole in bottom so that it may be made into a lamp, but equally impressive as a decorative piece of pottery. Maker's mark to underside with M.A.&S. original label. In very good condition with minor surface wear and scuffs. Circa 1955-1970.
German-born artist Marianne Starck (1938–2007) was one of Denmark’s leading ceramic designers in the 20th century. She is most known for her time with the Michael Andersen & Son factory from 1955-1993.
