From Creil et Montereau, a set of six Provęncal faïence plates, France – circa 1830-1850. A scarce blue on white earthenware pattern, said to be inspired by Marie Antoinette. The complex central geometric floral is banded with a wide running border of overlapping flowers and leaves. Having a charming hand-made quality. 8.5 in. Diameter x .75 in. H The expected light wear with discoloring to the versos, and mild roughing to the edges – lovely antique conditions, no chipping, cracks or crazing..
