A French late 19th century Louis XVI st. white Saint Amand et Hamage dining set
About the Item
A very elegant Country French late 19th century Louis XVI st. white Saint Amand et Hamage porcelain dining set. This fifty nine piece set is signed 'Saint Amand et Hamage', and has a traditional royal blue design throughout. Each porcelain serving dish is accented with an oval and diamond decorated band below the top rim with swaging floral garlands intermittently placed between tied bows.
Saint-Amand et Hamage porcelain refers to the fine ceramic ware produced in the northern French towns of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and Hamage. Renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship and intricate designs, this porcelain has a rich history that dates back to the late 18th century. The porcelain production in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux began in the late 1700s, taking advantage of the region's rich deposits of kaolin, a key ingredient in porcelain making.
