About the Item

This amazing 13 piece hand painted ornithological dessert service is painted in the "Aesthetic Movement Style" with each exotic bird realistically represented in it's natural landscape. The subjects have a restrained and elegant look, each framed by the amazing Christopher Dresser designed, Japanese "Cloissonné" enamel borders. The bright turquoise is typical of his distinctive design and technique. The set consists of 12 dessert plates and one footed compote making it a perfect grouping for a cabinet display and a dramatic dessert presentation.
