About the Item

This set of octagonal pearl-glazed creamware dishes was made in France in the early 19th century. The dishes have a traditional knife edge above at the cavetto, and an elegant beaded neoclassical border. These details give them a modern geometric look. The simplicity and purity of the design is what makes these dishes elegant and desirable. Background of Creil Creamware: Creil pearl-glazed creamware was inspired by the creamware perfected by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. In the early 1800s the Creil factory brought over English potters who managed the artistic and technical direction of the factory. Blue Color
