This large Bohemian crystal hookah base, crafted in the mid-19th century, is a striking example of the exceptional glasswork produced by Bohemian artisans for the Islamic Ottoman market. Standing at 32 cm high, made from transparent crystal glass with a rich red overlay, creating a dramatic contrast between the 2 colours. The circular body is adorned with multiple cut circles, separated by red glass overlays. The base rests on a square, rectangular platform, further embellished with red glass overlay and cut into a star shape at the bottom, which emphasizes the authenticity and precision of the glasswork. The neck features a red-colored crescent, symbolizing its specific creation for the Ottoman market.
