About the Item

Large hand-blown glass vase with orange, pink and white sections with purple, blue, and yellow accents by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy, 1955-56. The scale and artisanship of this vase is impressive. Anzolo Fuga was the master stained glass artist on Murano and his pieces often incorporate mesmerizing colorful “windows”. Reference: Anzolo Fuga, Murano Glass Artist by Rosa Barovier-Mentasti, Acanthus Press 2005, a general description of the Multicolor Rods and Murrine series (1955-60) is on page 41. Similar model vases can be seen in this section of the book. Provenance: Evan Lobel purchased this piece directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of art glass pieces stored there from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 60’s.
