About the Item
Striking large cobalt blue iridised Poschinger vase decorated with a large enamelled stork hovering over a pond covered in flowering lilies -A german vase in the classic Jugendstil style. This vase was made c1900. The main body of the vase is deep blue with a fine onionskin like iridisation. The Stork is depicted in a variety of gilded textures.
Ferdinand Von Poschinger was one of Germany's most successful Glass houses, specializing in iridised glass -their best pieces, like this one, often out did the quality of the Bohemian houses such as Loetz.
