About the Item

A Kaj Franck Woodcock "Lehtokurppa" model KF224 for Nuutajärvi, 1954. A beautiful art glass object, designed by the brilliant Kaj Franck. This rare piece was in production only from 1954 until 1968. The item is called Woodcock and comes in excellent condition and is signed "Kaj Franck" and Nuutajärvi Notsjö -56. Due to its long and very fragile beak, only few have survived in this condition. Kaj Franck (1911-1989) was the artistic director of the Arabia ceramics company. He was one of the leading figures of Finnish design and an influential figure in design and applied arts between 1940-1980.
