About the Item

This fine pair of Classic proportions have many marks of quality. The timber used on the sloped fronts has been carefully selected with figured grain conforming to the shape of the hinged cover. They are inlaid with an oval panel and inside with a compass rose in ebony and satinwood and crossbanded. The original purpose of these was to store cutlery. More practically now they would work well for bottle storage. They retain their original locks.
